WAI hosts Khadija Chopin for one-month internship, May 7 - June 7, 2018

unnamedThe West Africa Institute (WAI) hosted Ms. Khadija Chopin from May 7th to June 7th as part of a 30-day internship.

After a License degree in History and Political Science, Khadija Chopin is currently in Master 1 «Conflictualities and Mediation» at the Western Catholic University of Angers, France.

After several internships, notably at the Embassy of the Republic of Cabo Verde in Paris, at the Institute for Security Studies (ISS) in Dakar, Senegal and at the Senate in France, she wished to complete her internship for the year 2018 at the West Africa Institute.

According to Ms. Chopin, this one-month internship at the West Africa Institute allowed her to study regional integration, notably by working on the Cabo Verdean security policy in the face of the terrorist threat and migration. She also stated: «This topic has been very little studied and I would like to follow up on my investigations in order to write a scientific article on this issue. »

The West Africa Institute thanks all the persons in public and private, diplomatic representations and civil society organizations who received and kindly agreed to answer Ms. Chopin's questions and gave her orientations.
