WAI hosts the students of ISCJS, Carina De Oliveira and Cíntia Monteiro for one month intership

Est1The West Africa Institute (WAI) is hosting for one month internship Carina De Oliveira and Cíntia Monteiro, both students in International Relations and Diplomacy of Higher Institute of Juridical and Social Science (ISCJS) based in Praia, Cabo Verde.

Carina de Oliveira holds a degree in public management from the YALI (Young African Leaders Initiative) Dakar program, and is also a finalist in Licence degree in International Relations and Diplomacy at the ISCJS. She is currently conducting a survey on the role of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to ensure security, peace and stability in the region.

Cíntia Monteiro carried out a training in micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (REMPE) at the Ministry of Finance of Cabo Verde and is also achieving her Licence degree in International Relations and Diplomacy in ISCJS. She is performing one month internship at the West Africa Institute (WAI) as part of her studies. Her research focuses on the West African Integration Agenda and the establishment of the WAI as a link to better understand regional integration experiences such as those led by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA), among others.

During this internship, both students hope first to link theory and practice regarding the process of regional Integration in West Africa, and second to have a clear understanding of the vision, the missions and the activities developed by WAI.
