Promotion of a Culture of Peace in Africa

New Network of Research Institutions for the Promotion of a Culture of Peace in Africa, September 2013 (Addis-Abeba)

Reseau Pro Clut Paix TwoAt the invitation of UNESCO, Félix Houphouët-Boigny Foundation for Peace Research and African Union, the Director General of the West Africa Institute (WAI) has taken part to the meeting creating the Network of Foundations and Research Institutions Promoting a Culture of Peace in Africa.
The Network has been established in Addis Ababa, on September 20, 2013, under the umbrella of UNESCO and African Union.

The Network reaffirms its commitment to the UNESCO Constitution and the Constitutive Act of the African Union and its will to contribute to the implementation of the "Plan of Action for a Culture of Peace" adopted in Luanda (Angola), following the Pan-African Forum on "Sources and resources for a culture of Peace (March 2013).Reseau Pro Clut Paix

The Network makes the solemn commitment to endeavor to implement the AU2063 Agenda and the UNESCO Intersectoral Programme on Culture of Peace.
With 25 other stakeholders, WAI counts among the founding members attending the signature ceremony of the Constitutive Act of the Network. Click here for more information
